Room Makeover for a Baby Boy – Ocean Theme: It's truly amazing what just a few coats of paint can do! We refreshed the space with a classic split-wall design, painting the lower half in a deep sea blue and the upper half in a soft, airy light blue. We finished off the theme with high-quality vinyl sea creatures (including turtles, octopuses, seahorses, and whales) positioned along the boundary line to add a playful, imaginative touch.
Makeover for a Little Girl's Room – Butterfly Theme: A stunning transformation using a two-toned, half-and-half split wall painted in complementary shades of purple (soft lavender on top, a deeper warm violet on the bottom). We styled the transitions using delicate vinyl butterflies to break the boundary between the two colors, adding a beautiful, lively pop of style that ties the room's decor together perfectly.

Understanding The Scope
Designing for Siblings
For this project in Centurion, our client wanted to refresh two adjoining bedrooms for their young children: a baby boy and a little girl. Both spaces were starting as plain, blank canvases. The goal was to inject distinct personality, playful color, and imaginative joy into each room while keeping the execution cost-effective and clean.
The Power of Paint
Often, homeowners believe that creating a themed room requires expensive custom wallpaper murals or heavy remodeling. We wanted to prove the immense transformational power of simple, creative paint schemes. By utilizing two-toned split walls (horizontal halves), we established high visual interest and grounded the themes in each room. Split walls are also excellent for kids' rooms because they make the ceilings feel higher and the overall spaces feel airier.
Engineering The Solution
An Ocean Voyage for the Baby Boy
For the baby boy's room, we selected a calming palette of blue shades. After prepping the walls and applying clean painter's tape, we coated the lower section in a deep, cozy sea blue and kept the upper half light. To complete the themed look without cluttering the walls, we placed detailed vinyl sea creatures right along the painted split line. This creates the charming effect of creatures swimming along the horizon line, visible right above the chest of drawers.
A Butterfly Garden for the Little Girl
For the little girl's room, we transitioned into soft, soothing purples. We painted a crisp, horizontal two-toned divider, separating a rich warm violet below from a delicate lavender above. To break the straight boundary line and add a sense of whimsical movement, we applied vinyl butterfly decals fluttering upward from the divider line, creating a beautiful pop of detail.
